Server log files
When a page is requested, the hosting provider processes technical data that the browser sends automatically (IP address, date and time, requested URL, referrer, browser and operating system) in order to deliver the site and keep it secure. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure operation of the site). Log data is deleted after a short period unless it is needed to investigate an incident.
Web analytics: Fathom Analytics
Visits are measured with Fathom Analytics (Conva Ventures Inc., Canada), a privacy-focused service that sets no cookies and stores no personal data. It records aggregated figures such as page views, referrers, device type and country; IP addresses are used only transiently to recognise unique visits and are not stored. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used).
Advertising: Google AdSense
The site shows advertising from Google AdSense, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies to deliver, measure and, where you have agreed, personalise ads; data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA, which is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Where storing or reading information on your device requires consent (§ 25 TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), ads are only personalised on that basis. Personalised advertising can be managed at adssettings.google.com; details at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Fonts and links
Fonts are self-hosted; no requests are made to Google Fonts. Links to external websites are ordinary links; the linked sites' own privacy policies apply once they are opened.
If you contact the editorial team by email, the data you provide is used only to answer the message (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR) and deleted once it is no longer needed, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection under Articles 15–21 GDPR, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the Thuringian State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
